What I've Done
Leadership
I am currently striving to obtain my BA in Secondary English. I also have a minor in Public Relations at the University of South Carolina. I have diligently volunteered in my community through my church, local library, at a charter school, in print publications, and in other avenues so that I can become well equipped to become a middle and secondary English teacher. I also plan to begin my own publishing company in the future.

PDMSTA Summer Enrichment Program 2015-18 Reflection

Every summer I volunteer at Pee Dee for Math Science & Technology Academy's Summer Enrichment Program. It encourages students to continue learning what they were supposed to during the academic school year. What I love about this program is that it allow me a chance to have an opportunity to do what I love to do--changing kids lives.
Above you will see my mom and me with some of our students in the background. They were attempting to create their earthquake-proof buildings. They were learning about engineering and how engineers did their jobs. For a few weeks, they had to use their mathematical, writing skills, and social skills as a group to complete their buildings. This project not only taught the students a lot but showed me how I interacted with kids and what I needed to work more on to become an active educator.
